Community Stories

What actually happens when cancer education reaches a community — told with the consent of the people in the story.

How Stepin tells a story

Every impact story on this site follows the same structure, so that a reader can see the reasoning and not only the outcome.

  1. The Challenge — what the situation actually was
  2. The Response — what Stepin did about it
  3. The Community — who took part, in their own words
  4. The Impact — what changed, with figures where we have them
  5. What We Learned — including what went wrong
  6. What’s Next — how it connects to the roadmap

Consent comes first

Stepin does not publish a person’s health story without their informed, specific and freely given consent — and consent can be withdrawn at any time. Where someone wants their experience shared but not their identity, we anonymise. A story is never worth more than the dignity of the person in it.
