Media

Coverage, interviews and enquiries — and what we ask of journalists reporting on cancer.

Media enquiries

Stepin welcomes media interest in women’s cancer prevention and early detection in Ghana. We can provide interviews, background briefing, sourced statistics and access to programme activity.

  • Interviews with the Founder & CEO on cancer prevention and early detection
  • Background briefing on the Ghanaian cancer context, with sources
  • Access to outreach activities, subject to community and participant consent
  • Photography and footage, where permission has been granted

Reporting responsibly on cancer

We ask journalists working with us to observe the same standards we hold ourselves to:

  • Never imply that a symptom means cancer
  • Attribute statistics to their source and year
  • Avoid graphic imagery, which drives avoidance rather than action
  • Never publish a patient’s story without their specific consent
  • Include a route to qualified care, not just a warning
